01Buy-in
- The buy-in for this season is $50. This is subject to change in future seasons based on a league-wide vote.
02Draft
- The final draft order is now decided based on the pick number selection by each team.
- The order in which pick selections are made is the inverse of the final standings.
- For example, the Sacko (last place) will be the first to select their pick number. The Champion (first place) will be whatever the last available pick number is.
03Keepers
League setting: every team keeps 3 players.
- Players can be kept an unlimited number of times.
- Keeper rounds increase by 1 every season, effective immediately.
- For example, you draft a player in the 3rd round this season. To keep them for next season, you'd have to use a 2nd round pick. To keep them for the following season, you'd have to use a 1st round pick.
- 1st round keepers can be kept in the 1st round an unlimited number of times.
- These keeper rules are maintained through trades as well.
- For example, you draft a player in the 3rd round this season. If you trade that player to another team this season, they would have to use a 2nd round pick to keep them for the next season.
- Say the team that traded for said player used a 2nd round pick to keep them for the next season. If they then trade that player to another team in the subsequent season, that team would have to use a 1st round pick to keep them in the season after that. The only way it resets is if the player goes back into the Pool.
- For example, you draft a player in the 3rd round this season. If you trade that player to another team this season, they would have to use a 2nd round pick to keep them for the next season.
- If an undrafted player taken off the waiver wire is kept, the keeper round will be the sum of 1 + average of the (ADP of current season + ADP of last season).
- For example, I pick up an undrafted free agent this season (2023–24) and decide to keep him, the keeper round would be 1 + ((ADP 2024–25 + ADP 2023–24) / 2).
- If a player is kept in a round where the team does not have a pick, the next highest available pick must be used.
- For example, Team A keeps a player drafted in the 5th round, but they don't have a 5th round pick. The next highest available (4th, 3rd, etc.) must be used.
03·AKeeper calculator
Not part of the rule book. Works through Keepers rules 2 and 4. For undrafted players, the formula uses ADP pick numbers and converts the result to a round at the end.
04Trading
- Trades must be told to the LMs after it has been accepted in the ESPN fantasy app. It will then be posted in the basketball rules chat for other teams to view.
- Trades will be left up to league voting on the ESPN fantasy app, unless there is collusion or other external circumstances that influenced the integrity of the trade between the two parties.
- Players involved in the trade are not allowed to vote. If a player involved in the trade votes, it will result in an automatic veto by league managers.
- Trading deadline
- The trade deadline will occur prior to Matchup 13.
- A trade completed prior to this deadline that is still being processed after the deadline will still get a chance to go through, as long as it is not vetoed by the league.
- The trade deadline will occur prior to Matchup 13.
- Pick trading
- There is no pick swap trading allowed (e.g. 1st round swaps).
- Only picks from the next season can be traded.
- For example, for the 2022–2023 season, picks for the 2023–2024 season are the only ones that can be traded. Any picks being traded further out will result in an automatic veto by league managers.
- There must be a 1:1 ratio of picks in a trade.
05Picks
- Each team must have 14 total picks by the start and end of each season.
- Clean Slate Rule: In order to leave a team, you must have all 14 picks in all 14 rounds (1 pick each round).
- Failure to comply will result in a permaban + you must pay buy-in for following season.
06Playoffs, rewards & Sacko punishment
- Of the 12 teams, the top 8 will enter the playoffs, where a tournament will determine the winner of the league. The rewards given to the top 3 teams resulting from the tournament are as follows:
- 1st place gets the rest
- 2nd place gets (buy-in × 2)
- 3rd place gets buy-in
- Regular Season Champion gets buy-in
- The bottom 4 teams will enter the losers bracket, where a tournament will determine the loser of the league ("Sacko").
- The loser of the league, as determined by this tournament, will have to complete a punishment, as agreed upon by the league. The punishment is subject to change in future seasons.
- Failure to complete the Sacko punishment will result in a permaban + you must pay buy-in for following season.
- The loser of the league, as determined by this tournament, will have to complete a punishment, as agreed upon by the league. The punishment is subject to change in future seasons.
